Sweet Pea Fareham Rally June 2016 (DVD)

Fareham and District Society of Model Engineers in June 2016 hosted with Phil Owen of Blackgate Engineering "The 2016 Sweet Pea Rally". This all new  GWP film includes plenty of action with over thirty 5 inch and 7 1/4 inch Sweet Pea narrow gauge model locomotives. Their enthusiastic owners came from all over the country to enjoy this wonderful two day event on a great little Hampshire railway line in fine summer weather.

The Sweet Pea was first designed and built by Jack Butler in the 1970s, he approached Blackgate who made all patterns and castings for his 5 inch model. Blackgate have since been marketing and providing all the parts and drawings for model engineers for this very successful model. This design was an immediate success and an ideal starter loco for people new to the hobby. Phil Owen said that many hundreds have now been built.

There is also a thrid private event 2 days later when Phil took his 7 1/4 gauge Sweet Pea to the Easteigh Lakeside Railway  for a steam up!
